The “Discovering Connection” exhibit showcases the work of artists from the Washington Artist Trust 2008 EDGE program. Two black and white photographs of mine, “Residual Memory” and “Madrona Nub” have been selected for display. These macro nature images were taken on Orcas Island, WA and are significant in my life as representing the first time I was able to call myself an artist, and believe it. That belief has made all the difference.

The EDGE Program offers artists a comprehensive survey of professional practices through a hands-on, interactive curriculum that includes instruction by professionals in the field as well as specialized presentations, panel discussions, and assignments. EDGE Program provides artists with the relevant and necessary entrepreneurial skills to achieve their personal career goals and with the opportunity to develop peer support and exchange. Since 2003, 512 literary, film and visual artists have successfully completed the EDGE Program.
